As you will be staying in the center of the aurora oval you will maximize your chances of seeing the lights. Either from right outside on the doorstep of the hotel, or while participating in exciting outdoor adventures like aurora hunting on snowmobile or dog sledding.
Our team of local snowmobiling guides will escort you to the pristine, frozen expanse of Sikkajavri Lake, a location renowned for its absence of light pollution and optimal conditions for viewing the northern lights. As the snowmobiles' engines fall silent, you will be enveloped by a profound tranquility. Standing beside the frozen lake in this serene stillness, accompanied only by the gentle crackling of a bonfire, offers an experience akin to meditation at its finest.
While awaiting the appearance of the aurora, you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, including ice fishing on the lake, snowshoeing, and driving the snowmobiles alongside our expert guides. Should you feel the chill, a heated hut is available for you to warm up. Additionally, during the tour, you will be served a comforting bowl of soup and a warm beverage.
Warm thermal suits, winter boots, and safety gear will be provided for your comfort and protection throughout the experience.
Embark on an exciting self-driving dog sledding adventure in Reisadalen. Ride your own sled of huskies among the snow covered landscape at the border to Reisa National Park. At the beginning of the tour the guides will take time to show you how to ride, before you mount your own sled. You will be riding in pairs, and switching between riding and resting on the sled.
Half way through the tour you will make a stop at a heated log cabin in the woods where you will be served a warm meal and and hot beverage. While at the cabin, and after the tour you will be given plenty of time to pet and take photos together with the dogs.

Kronebutikken is a charming historic shop just a short stroll from Reisafjord Hotel. Hilde, the friendly owner, will meet you at the hotel reception and walk with you to the shop. Once there, she’ll show you around and share fascinating stories about the people who’ve lived in the area. Hilde’s truly passionate about the local arts and history, and she’ll give you the rundown on “the three tribes”—Norwegian, Sami, and Kven—that make up the region’s unique mix of people.
After the tour, you’re welcome to step inside and check out the one-of-a-kind handmade crafts that highlight the area’s creative spirit.
